What is at Cabazon Dinosaurs?

Cabazon Dinosaurs is a roadside attraction centered on Mr. Rex, Dinny and more than 100 other dinosaur figures. Mr. Rex is a 65-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus rex, while Dinny is a 150-foot-long Apatosaurus.
Sculptor Claude Bell began building the dinosaurs in 1964 to attract customers to his nearby Wheel Inn restaurant. Today, the attraction’s dinosaur walk includes a dino dig and a fossil-and-gemstone panning sluice. Bags for panning are available in the gift store, and a gift shop is located inside Dinny’s belly.
You can photograph the large dinosaurs for free from the parking lot outside the attraction; entering for the dinosaur walk is a separate visit. The figures have also appeared in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and The Wizard.
